Elements of an effective interview

Interviewing for a new job can feel tense, especially if you don’t know what the interviewer’s expectations are.
Here is a brief overview of what makes a positive impression with us during the hiring process:

Do a little research and show up prepared

Before you show up for an interview, we expect you to have a basic understanding of what Ripples does, what kind of role you’re interviewing for, and what the expectations would be should you be hired.
This helps us skip the preliminary explanations and get to deeper matters. Importantly, this also gives you a change to think about if the job is actually a good fit for you! We are looking for the best talent, and candidates who feel like “any job will do” will not make a positive impression.

Come ready with your own questions for us

As we said above, the interview is an opportunity to make sure that Ripples is a place you actually want to work at. Asking questions about the work culture, the schedule, and the expectations can give you valuable insight, and also contribute to our impression of you. The best interviews are a conversation, not an interrogation!

Advocate for yourself and show off your communication skills

While mannerisms and body language do help build a professional impression, most of all we look for an effective communicator. Help us understand your skills and strengths. The way you interact with us will inform us as to how you’ll interact with our guests.

If a scheduling conflict occurs, let us know

Sometimes you’ll need to reschedule your interview time, or maybe you decide to pursue another opportunity altogether.
No matter what the reason, if you need to cancel an appointment with our team, please let us know that you can’t attend.
No-call-no-show candidates won’t be considered for future positions.
